fast67cat
Has anyone else tried the new Sync 3.3 update from a USB stick on a 2018 Edge SEL? It appears to be stuck "updating system software" after two hours.
fast67cat
After over 5 hours, the update finally finished. The stick was an HP 2.0 USB - perhaps that is why it was so slow.

fast67cat
Unfortunately, I did not write it down before doing the update. It was Sync 3 that was installed at the factory. Edited December 13, 2019 by fast67cat typo
jmr061
Your 2018 Edge only goes to a software version of 3.0. By SYNC3.3 I am guessing you mean SYNC3 version 3.0. You using "3.3" is going to confuse people thinking that Ford has an update out for the now "old" version of SYNC3 allowing it use the software that the "new" release of SYNC3 uses. This is not the case. Just an FYI thing. Guessing that might be why @JoeVic was questioning what you started out at.
ONEDGE16
Sync 3 software version 3.0 build 19052 is the latest version. Sync 3 software version 3.4 has not yet been released as an update yet but is installed on 2020 models. This is not the case. Actually, it's a thing just not an official Ford Motor Company release. Edge owners are downloading files, loading them onto a pair of flash drives and updating to Sync V3.4. Here's a link to the download site so you can read all about it: https://cyanlabs.net/tutorials/update-ford-sync-3-2-2-3-0-to-version-3-4-all-years-3-4-19200/?fbclid=IwAR0H9Y0FqhWHHKwtgujDxtyuKBIuT-E_l-ANpJip0oPXJrJaIiYvxEDU9s8#comment-4694266986 Edited December 14, 2019 by Gadgetjq

Spaceman Spiff
My Sync 3 is build 17276 and running fine. Is worth upgrading or “ not fix something that isn’t broken?” spiff
onyxbfly
I forget the various build numbers but they all offer incremental improvements that enhance the functionality of the system. Some people may have issues and some do not. Some only update when an issue arises. If you have access to Apple Carplay and Android Auto I would update when an issue arises. If you get a new phone and have issues or something, then update it.
