MLK2015
I changed the PTU and rear axle lube last week at 18,000 miles and used Red Line 75W-140 synthetic lube in both. Will the 75W-140 cause any harm in the rear axle? I don't tow and and the AWD has only engaged maybe 3 times in the last 4 years. Should I go back to 80W-90 gear lube to be safe? akirby
If the OM calls for 80w-90:then that’s what you need. I’d change it. That’s a big difference in hot viscosity.

Redline offers 75W-90 for your differential. 75W-90 is a suitable alternative for 80W-90. https://www.redlineoil.com/75w90-gl-5-gear-oil
