2016 Ford Edge Rear Camera Is Not Sharp

Recommended Posts

We just purchased a 2016 Edge w/37k miles.  We've noticed that the backup camera is not vivid and sharp.  its not a dirty lens as i've cleaned it.

Our daughter has a 2017 jeep cherokee and her display is bright.  My boss has a '17 chevy truck and the same, bright vivid display.

Any Thoughts?

Usually the Edge's rear view camera is considered a very good one, at lease from my observation. But also on my 2016 Edge I started to notice that depending on the angle of light that is coming from behind it would show the image and as though the lens is dirty. Probably a defective camera that had some moisture come inside.

Have you tried adjusting the brightness of your display?  Maybe a previous owner turned the level down at some point.  Go to Settings then page over to Display then to Brightness and crank it up.  The level is right in the center from the factory.  See pics of my '16 screen below.
