08LTDEDGE
A close friend of mine that works at the Oakville plant gave me an x-PLAN PIN. I was going to use it towards the purchase of a new 08 EDGE. Will it get me any discount off of the current promotion that Ford is offering here in Ontario called Family Plan Pricing? The Dealer is saying that the Current promotion is like A Plan pricing and since Xplan is not as good as A plan that this PIN will not get me a bettter deal. If this is so, then what is the purpose of issuing these pins at this time?

If this is so, then what is the purpose of issuing these pins at this time? That is probably correct - my understanding is family plan is A plan and that's approximately 4% less than X plan. The only difference would be if there were additional X plan rebates available and the documentation fee (limited to $75 on X plan, probably $300-$400 on the Family Plan pricing). 08LTDEDGE
I talked with my friend that supplied me the PIN and now he tells me that it is an ambassadeur PIN. Does that make any difference?
bbf2530
I talked with my friend that supplied me the PIN and now he tells me that it is an ambassadeur PIN.Does that make any difference? Hi 08LTDEDGE. :D There is no difference. X-Plan is X-Plan. I will not get into a lot of explanations and definitions, but the Ambassador designation has nothing to do with the PIN itself. It only has to do with a rewards program for Ford Employees who give out a certain number of PINS. If family Plan ricing is truly being offered in your area, it will be a better price than the X-Plan. However, to satisfy your curiosity, have the Dealer show you both prices (X and A-Plan). They are both listed on the Factory Invoice for every vehicle, and the Dealer is required to show the Factory Invoice to you. Good luck. :beerchug: Edited August 17, 2008 by bbf2530
08LTDEDGE
Thanks for the input. SO if I go with the family plan pricng being offered, does the Dealer still enter the pin so that it goes towards my friends reward program? Grey
The dealership will not need the PIN - (can't use it). Tell your buddy to cancel it and reissue to another friend when the family plan deal is over.
