rickwhoo
On a 2008 Ford Edge, how can I turn the engine lite off. I just did some repairs to it.
1004ron
You could use the app "Forscan Lite", or disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes to reset the stored error codes. If the light is sustained, then the repairs you did have not corrected the problem, or all the problems, that caused the light to come on. If the light comes on, and you correct the problem it will not longer stay on, although the error code will remain stored. BTW, this forum subsection is for "Forum Help & Site Suggestions" - you might attract more response if you PM'd a Moderator and asked them to move it. akirby
Not worth moving. Most repairs should clear the CEL automatically. Some require multiple ignition/driving cycles. If it doesn't go off on its own in a few days go get the codes read again.
rickwhoo
I drove it for a while and gave up and disconnected the battery... It's off. This biggest issue I had was trying to figure out the cylinder number. Every website was showing either 1 2 3 toward the windshield or 1 3 5. It drove me crazy. I contacted a friend that owns a garage and he said it was 1 3 5 and I called 2 Ford dealerships and they said 1 2 3. I went with the Ford people.
