Giddyup66
My wife had a chance to demo for a day a fully load Edge, we are in the market for a crossover to replace her expedition. She drove it 145 miles most in town and got 17.9mpg. That was better than we thought it would get. She loved the car. Nice ride, handled great, very low road noise and very good fit and finsh. The only thing that we could not find on the order sheet was the following. No Homelink option! No HID light option! We will be waiting to order until July. The HID's we can install aftermarket but the Homelink is not availible aftermarket. Could someone speek up and suggest that Homelink be standard in the upper models and or option? Hid's would be great too. Thanks again for a great product. Todd & Sandra Wilsonville, Oregon
Otpisdead
Hid's would be great too. Have you looked at the Lincoln MKX? These HIDs will even turn with the wheel direction.
nhunter
The adaptive lights on the MKX AREN'T HID. Only halogen that steer.
Otpisdead
The adaptive lights on the MKX AREN'T HID. Only halogen that steer. Ah, did not know that. They seem bright enough with no streetlights. Any brighter and just a twitch off aim and people would be flashing the high beams at it. yelnef
I thought the Homelink option was offered as an dealer accessory, however you buy it on another rearview mirror. Check it out here: http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/fas/b2c/catalog.asp under interior > mirror or here: http://partscheap.com/edge07.htm for less money. ctrcbob
I have HID's on my loaded MKZ and I'm not impressed with them. If I was ordering, (which I would never do - I never order anymore) I would be just as happy with the QI Headlights.

Can it possibly harm the stock headlight housing? I've been debating on doing this kit or an upgrade to 4350k super white Mtec halogens

I've been debating on doing this kit or an upgrade to 4350k super white Mtec halogens  from what i understand this is not a problem. my brother has this kit on his 05 Nissan Murano for over a year now still working beautifully... I had the HID wanabes on my Acura MDX they are regular bulbs that run at a higher WATTAGE to make more light... yeah it looks brighter. I had them installed on the headlights w/o a problem... i installed them on the fogs... and it melted the clear plastic in the front not the harness... I was able to install regular bulbs and return the car to Acura after my lease was up... it is their problem now... I belive they run cooler... i will give a full report once i receive the Edge and order the HID kit.
Former Ford ZM
By July we will be building the 2008s model. I had homelink on a previously company issued Explorer. I would think something like that would be on it. The 08 will have some more options that you may enjoy.
