fpcarrubba
Hi all, I have a 2014 Edge SEL and the right side steering wheel controls stopped working. Because all of the right side controls fail and all of the left side controls work, I assumed (incorrectly) that it was a faulty switch. I pulled the airbag and replaced the right side switch and voila...it still doesn't work. Some online research has led me to believe that the problem may be a faulty clock spring. Any ideas? Suggestions? Experiences? Note...I do occasionally get some goofy error messages relative to the driver's door being ajar (when it is not) or transmission being in park (when it is not). I can usually clear these out by hitting the OK button on the left side of the steering wheel but I am curious as to whether this is connected to the right side steering wheel control problem. Thanks to everyone in advance. Frank
eGuru
Agree, this is likely due to a defective clock spring but (less likely) could also be a wiring/connector or ACM issue.
fpcarrubba
Thank you for the input. I have ordered a new clock spring. I will report back after install.
enigma-2
Sounds like a software issue. I would try a full vehicle reset. Disconnect the battety negative cable for 10 minutes.
