2016 Edge Titanium AWD
Was wondering if anyone has removed the step plate on the passenger or driver's side to see how the 'Edge' logo is illuminated. If so, does the entire step plate just pop off with gentle prying, or is there a trick to it? Just picked up our 'new to us' 2016 Ford Edge Titanium AWD and the illumination was working when we bought it two weeks ago, until this passed week end. Dealer says they have to order the part from the US; - connector has 'green slime' on it due to water damage. Is this water damage as common a problem as the dealer explained to me? omar302
Seems it just pulls out. This image is part of the B-Pillar removal procedure. B-Pillar Trim Panel R and I.pdf
2FAST4U
I never took one off my Edge but I did on my girlfriend's '14 Mustang and is was both clipped on and also had some kind of two-way tape on them. 2016 Edge Titanium AWD
Thanks very much for the replies. Really helps with removal, although I hope I never have to remove the 'B' pillar ? Now, I'd be interested in knowing whether this is a common water damage problem with the Edge. Gadgetjq
Good news, I don't think it's a common problem. I scan multiple Edge related forums and Facebook groups and have never seen this mentioned before. The bad news is, of course, you're dealing with it. You don't show where you live in the profile. Is there any chance your Edge was driven through or was in a flooded area at some point? If it was driven through high water that could explain the problem.
IWRBB
Grip it and rip it. Might need to pull the metal clips off the body and put them back on the trim piece before you reinstall, they tend to bite into the metal and not stay on the plastic as it's removed, no matter how careful you are.
