EdgeEh
The driver side seat belt in my 2018 Edge is currently stuck in fully retracted position. It looks like the lock is engaged and I cannot pull it at all. I tried pulling gently, yanked it a bit, still nothing. Does anyone have any solution for this? My closest dealer is 4km away, so I may be able to just drive without seat belt there but I don't want to risk being pulled over for not wearing seat belt. omar302
Try to lower the seat belt shoulder anchor to get it to retract a bit. Another thing to try is a sudden brake from like 5 mph.
EdgeEh
Bit of an update. The seatbelt was working again the next morning and it continued to do so for few days. Then it happened again (both times parked outside, hot sunny weather). Luckily I had nothing to do that day, so I had it towed (Ford Roadside assistance) to my local dealership. The service manager ripped open the plastic cover, wiggled the seat belt and he fixed it. It is still getting replaced under warranty though.
omar302
Thanks for the feedback. Now that you mentioned it was sitting outside, my Edge's driver seat-belt seems to be affected if it was heat soaked. Though it does not fully lock, only locks a couple times while trying to buckle up (have to retract it a bit then re-pull). Other than when being heat soaked, it works fine.
