Ryno99
Hello all. Was wondering if the 2020 ST comes out with the new Ford dashboard and instrument panel (all digital) would it be possible to have that installed in a 2019 ST model?? I see the Europe model of 2019 ST comes equipped with the updated panel. Wondering how or if that would be possible.
DaMiFo
A 2019 ST in the US/Canada can definitely (and fairly easilly if you have the right tools) be swapped to the European Edge's (and past/current Lincoln) instrument cluster. Many people on the Fusion forums (me included) have installed the Mondeo/Lincoln MKZ cluster in our North American Fusions (back to the 2013 model years). You'd need a compatible cluster first (usually get one from the same platform - we've seen issues using a Lincoln MKC cluster on a Fusion as the eletronics are different) The lens/mask part of the cluster has to fit your dashboard (can import one from Europe if needed). This can be detached from the instrument cluster itself. It needs to have Ford firmware on it (Lincoln's use a different strategy). Using the European Edge firmware would work. Then it needs to have your vehicle's AsBuilt data applied (your specific car's settings and features). Then of course, the mileage needs to be corrected (increasing the mileage is easiest - so try to find one that's new or that has lower miles than you do to save some time & money). Here's a fantastic thread and how-to on this topic if you're really interested. It's for 2nd gen Fusions, but the current gen Edge is nearly identical. Ryno99
Thanks for the great feedback and info! I would definitely not be someone who would be able to do this upgrade. I would have to our Ford dealer do it or find a custom shop to do that. Not familiar with this at all obviously.
candurin
Go with a shop then. Ford will likely not do it. Given the remote chance they might, it would likely me a ridiculous price tag.
onyxbfly
@TXFRDOwner has access to European and asian parts. He is currently looking into securing the lens/ mask that will fit the digital dash for the edges. Drop him a line if you are interested. The more people that are interested will make shipping cheaper. He has plenty of references on 2gfusions.net and various F-150 forums. TXFRDOwner has offered to do a group buy for the Chinese/ Euro Edge Lens/ mask which is needed to install the digital dash. ($110.21) + shipping (varies per zip) Those that are interested please post here and PM TXFRDOwner for payment details.
Ryno99
I’d be in for this! I’d also need the actual UK instrument panel though as well. Need to find someone that would install this here in Iowa too.
omar302
I'd be interested, if someone can help in finding an instrument cluster in Km/h. Couldn't find one.
037
In the Continental going from MPH to KM is 1 tick box... Was useful when I went to Canada once.
TXFRDOwner
I’m not 100% sure about this but y’all can email DanMC85 (contact@Sync3programming.com) to ask if it matters which Lincoln model the cluster comes from. He’s the programming Guru.
