Edge2014
Hi Everyone, Owner of a 2014 Edge here. Recently, I had an issue a display message on my dash to "service advancetrac." When braking, the vehicle felt like a wheel was locking and it was sluggish to accelerate. The dealer pulled the codes P193C and U0401. After updating software and resetting codes, they reappeared. Dealer says that it's most likely the steering angle sensor and module, and that they want to basically rebuild the steering column. This is a big job, and to be honest I am not too knowledgeable on car repairs. Any experience or insight you have on this would be really appreciated. Thanks so much. akirby
That sounds plausible but I would ask for the codes that show it was the steering angle sensor and not a wheel speed sensor.
Edge2014
That’s the thing - they say this job only has a 90% chance of fixing the problem. They really don’t know and are taking a guess. All they said was that the steering angle sensor was giving a bad reading. Seems that this problem should should be easier to pinpoint than they’re making it seem. Edited June 17, 2019 by Edge2014 Spelling
artmax
hello could you find the fault?
artmax
Hello friends! A few days ago I shared a failure in my edge 2014, you will remember that the advance trac notice came on, dialing codes p193c and u0401. It turns out that the problem was that the air inlet filter to the engine came loose and therefore registered the fault. I hope this information will serve you in the future. Cheers. 1
