franklin6988
I have a 2012 Ford edgeu, I just bought it and it has a governor set at 80 miles an hour. Today I about got in a wreck because I could not speed up any faster to get out of the way of a semi this is dangerous and ridiculous!! who puts these on these cars it certainly wasn't my idea to have one on the car didn't even know it was there until after I had already purchased it. is there any way to get it off?? WWWPerfA_ZN0W
You will need to access the MyKey function (admin key needed) to remove this restriction. Do you have both original keys?
14ese
Would a replacement key off Amazon allow you to access the MyKey settings? (Without getting the new key cut) Only programming it to the car ,would that make the system think both keys are there or would it just add a 3rd key that would default to the MyKey settings already on the other key? Sorry if I got long winded, trying to solve a 1 key purchase as cheap as possible for the moment.
akirby
If you only have 1 key then you need a dealer to program the second one and that should also wipe out the mykey settings. If you have 2 keys one should be a master key. If not again you need a dealer (or a locksmith or shop with a Ford IDS).
