FINFAN3DP
Well, I feel like an idiot, but caught the little lip of the turn signal on the garage door opening, and cracked JUST the signal. Has anyone replaced just one of these? I'm guessing the painted cover above it is on with clips? I don't want to go prying on it if it is bolted from behind the mirror glass. Has anyone replaced one of these before? If you did, is there a video, or could you walk me through it? I have included a pic of the signal that needs to be replaced. 01Cobra
3 top clips and one corner one. The 3 top clips you can work your way one by one pushing the tab in from the mirror glass side and pulling back. Two people help to make the process easier. That bottom inside corner clip I didn’t figure out. I broke mine on the painted cover. Auto body double side mount tape solved that. So....there is a picture at least and kind of a process. If you figure out how to get the last clip out without breaking it please post it up. There is zero info out there on 15+ edge mirror cover removal. ahill1089
I got to this point of removing the cover ( also broke the inside clip ) but couldn’t figure out how to remove the actual blinker assembly to replace. Anyone have any idea of that?
SJE6
I just did this yesterday. The secret is, there is a screw on the bottom outside edge, and you have to get at it from behind the mirror glass. So if you pull the mirror glass out, in the lower outer quadrant, you'll find a sort of tunnel, and at the back of that is a small star-head screw. You need to remove that screw. Then on the outside there's a clip on the inner part of the light which pops right out, and then you can wiggle the light assembly out of its slot. Then, of course, don't forget to replace the screw when you install the new light. :) I discovered this by zooming in on the part schematic from the Ford Parts site... Hope this helps.
