Chazberry
What's everyone's take on this? Edited February 27, 2019 by Chazberry
Perblue
Pay the extra for premium so you get the extra detergents and not worry about it. It'll cost you about the same without worrying what some bottle additive is actually doing.

Don’t do it and don’t do business with whoever advertised that.

WWWPerfA_ZN0W
A periodic application of Techron Concentrate Plus (once every 6 months or 5,000 miles) or BG 44K (once every year or 10,000 miles) will not hurt regardless of the gas you choose to use. There are some doubts of the efficacy of such "cleaners" in GDI applications, you can use MMO/TC-W3 (4-5 oz to a tank, every tank) if you choose. That will also help. OR run Shell 93 w NITRO+. That indeed makes a noticeable difference, naturally aspirated or forced induction. More power, smoother, etc. Mobil/Exxon Synergy is also good, but not as good as Shell Nitro+ in my experience. todd92
First I've heard that ethanol cause ring deposits. If anything it would clean them.
Sage
How many years has ethanol been around now, I have never heard of an issue with deposits on rings because of ethanol.
