ggaglio
Are the instrument cluster backlights supposed to be ON during the daytime? or Only at night? Thank you to whomever takes the time to respond.
PaulSchott
Only at night on my 2007. Same cluster
ggaglio
Thanks for the reply Paul. It was so long ago since I'd driven this car. Drove thru a short tunnel on the way to the airport here in Phoenix and all was dark until I almost exited the tunnel when the Auto Headlights kicked on. Thought for sure the Dash lights used to be ON during the day. You confirmed it and I don't think that changed in '08. Thanks
Kitulu
I have an 08 Limited. The only time that the dash lights come on is if the headlights are on. I have found that the sensor is finicky as to when it will trigger the lights.
ggaglio
Thanks Kitulu for the response. I guess I should drive it more often and I wouldn't find any surprises. There is nowhere where this information is shown, on the state of the instrument lights daytime vs nighttime. Thanks guys.
BAYLENSMAN
Along the same lines, my older lincoln (96) the auto function on the headlight turned them on when ever the car started day or night. Is there anyway to SPOOF the 08 to do the same?
PaulSchott
You could block the sensor in the center of the dash. They would think it's night all the time.
