Getting smartlink programmed to car

Recommended Posts

Just got a smartlink module a week ago from Nate at Fairway. Followed easy instructions to get it almost setup

but haven’t been able to find a place to get it activated in IDS besides the stealership that wants $150 for 10 minutes

of fiddling on a computer.

Are there any other types of places that have IDS or ways to get it programmed that doesn’t involve the stealership?

Any help is appreciated.

Where in Wisconsin? I am in SE MN and typically along the river during weekends.

I haven't tried the truck shops yet but they are probably just as high and hard to get into.

The couple of dealerships in the area are all out at least 2 weeks for something like this

and didn't really know what smartlink even is.

I would call the smartlink hotline and let them tell you what dealers in your area have experience with smartlink.  If you go to a random dealer you may end up paying for their learning curve.   Personally I feel that the dealer charges well enough so that their techs do not need learn on your dime.

If Jmr061 is close to you, that may be a viable option for you.
