vega
I have two vehicles, 2012 Focus and 2015 Edge both from the same dealer. I do most of my work on them but once in a while will go to the dealer for things like flushes, transmission. Invariably, they always try to push throttle body cleaning service or injector cleaning. I once fell for the injector cleaning on the Focus for $220. I felt taken since it didn't run any better or different. I do my own throttle cleaning on both. Is it only me that think this is a gimmick?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Pretty easy to do for both components, DIY. There ARE professional services for induction cleaning that are worth it if you don't normally use top tier gas. Every year or couple of years, say. Do you have an ecoboost or the 3.5L engine in your Edge? GDI fuel induction services really do help, as intank cleaners are not that effective over time. Valvoline, BG offer specific services for GDI, others may also at the pro level.
