KennyE
Any clues how to remove this grill? Needs a good cleaning. My plastic furniture pry tools didn't seem to be able to pop it out. In fact, it broke the edges (ha!) off the smaller tool. Suggestions? This is the cargo area. '17 Titanium, Sony Sound.
Cree
I’m asking the same question for my 2015 sport. Want to try and fix a rattling noise coming from that area. I know you can pry open the panel it’s connected to by piping off panels starting from the bottom by the spare tire and working your way up. Cree
Just realized that wouldn’t really help you in your case for cleaning the screen lol by bad.
Jbob0124
The grille is a part of that rear quarter panel...You can't simply just remove it. If you want to get to the backside of it, you have to remove that whole panel, starting by removing the trunk sill first. I just did this a few days ago trying to see what was acutally in there as it's an awfully large grille for the lack of sound it was putting out. Doubt I'll pull it, then. Pulling sills and side panels, probably best left to someone with more experience (and patience) than I. BTW, what did you find behind there? Jbob0124
Some mean looking clips and a lot of wasted space. There is a 6.5" speaker there with a large enclosure. Not much else. Here is a link to an example (not mine) https://www.ebay.com/p/2015-2016-2017-Ford-Edge-Right-Rear-Woofer-Sony-Et4t-19a067-ac/11020401340. Couldn't really find a better example. That's the subwoofer in the "Premium" Sony sound package.? 'splains a lot ?
Jbob0124
There is plenty of room for upgrading if someone wanted, the only limiting factor is space from the panel to the frame of the body. Think it was roughly 6" from panel to frame. Still plenty of room. To be honest, I was kind of surprised to see such a small speaker there, considering the size of that grille.
