the actual port and function with sync, prob not. add more ports. yes. I just did it on my sons prelude, removed the cig lighter completely and dropped in a fast charging USB replacement

Thanks, for your input.  Do you have a link to what you replaced the lighter with?

Nick, do you have some pictures of it installed?… Also, I wonder how hard it would be to replace the lighter socket on the right side of my 2016's Titanium console with one like that?… Would it need extra wiring of could I use the factory power wire? :headscratch:

thanks,

Claude. ;)

P.S: I tried one of those usb sockets sold in flea markets ($2.) but it's as slow as the original usb posts inside the console… :(

Is it possible to change out the standard USB ports with fast charging ones in a 2013 Edge?

See this thread. Already done by @27Sport on his 2015 Edge. Probably would work on a 2013.

You need to buy a good quality USB socket. For Android phones, most would benefit from Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 which will charge even faster than the USB smart ports. There are also small sized sockets that will fit nearly flush.

I remember a while ago, someone posted a link on Ebay (not sure) for a 3.0 charger which fit flush into the lighter socket (was even able to close the small cover door) but I cannot find it anymore...
