Carr
Has anyone had problems with HID headlights in Edge? Mine come on then after a few minutes they turn off. Brought to ford dealer and was told they did a 'special test' from ford and it indicated the ballasts are bad and have to be replaced. What are the odds of BOTH ballasts going bad at the same time? Now to find instructions on how to replace them......
omar302
The ballasts are connected to the bottom of the headlights. So you need to remove the headlight in order to change the ballasts. For the 2011-2014 model, I believe the front bumper cover needs to be removed in order to remove the headlights. You should easily find a video on YouTube on how to remove the headlights as several members uploaded how to videos.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Look for Preston Royce's video on how to remove the front bumper on a 2011-14 Edge. The first one I ever saw on YT/on this forum.
