riche_guy
My battery died this week. Changed battery, but now GPS not working. Took card out reinsert it, no change. Decided to do a master reset to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Ford Edge 2013 Limited. omar302
I'd disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes & then see if it fixes it.

omar302
Sorry, don't know what else can be done. Hopefully a more knowledgeable member will chime in.
cfo20
When you say not working, do you mean the red X over the GPS symbol? If so, could be the OEM GPS antenna. I just replaced my OEM GPS antenna (2011 MKX) and it resolved that issue.
riche_guy
Yes a red X over GPS symbol. Will check if it is that. I have an appointment with dealership in December...
riche_guy
I went to the dealer and he tells me he needs to replace the GPS module with 2.5 hours labour. $
jmr061
If you ask me they are nuts on the labor hours. Hands on time shouldn't be more than an hour. The module sits behind the instrument cluster.

jmr061
14 hours ago, timfountain said: I think a couple of hours is pretty reasonable. 2.5? Maybe a stretch! You have to take off 3 pieces of trim and the center console out, re-program the new APIM and also remove the head unit to detach the APIM from the back of the screen. Re-assembly is the reverse.... And then a test drive. The GPS module is separate from the APIM so not sure why you are referencing that. The vehicle in question is a 2013 which would have MFT/SYNC2. timfountain
Good point. I was thinking it was Sync 3. Sync 2 I have no idea, so hats off to you.
cfo20
I would try replacing the antenna first. $50 and change gamble (doing the labor yourself) but it may fix the problem (did for me).
