U128129
My car battery has been replaced three times in the past month and something is draining my battery. I thought it could be my APIM which is currently on recall however dealer said that was not it and to take battery back and have them replace with new one. It appears this is a common issue with these cars and unsure why after having my car at shop for almost a week I was told just replace battery and now after three days of my car sitting my car is dead again. akirby
Have you seen any errors such as "shift to park"? Bad shifter park sensor is one known problem. The BCM (body control module) is another.
U128129
Yes Shift to Park for a while. That error does not show up any longer.
U128129
Do you know how much this costs ?
U128129
Is this something thats currently an issue with many Fords and possibly under some sort of warranty?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
No extended warranty unless you bought one yourself. There is a TSB for the Shift to Park/Shifter Not in Park issue that confirms replacing a switch in the shifter assembly fixes the issue.
U128129
Thank you so much. I am so grateful for your help and guidance. I looked into the entire cost of the Module and the cost is about $260.00 just for part no labor. Im going to inquire on TSB only and hope the cost is a lot less. U128129
What does TSB stand for?
rwf78155
My 2013 ( which I traded in for a 2018 ) had the same issue. It turned out to be the shift to park system was not shutting systems down when the vehicle was turned off. My Ford extended warranty covered everything and even paid for a rental car while they waited for the repair parts
U128129
Thank you for your input. Im so happy that was covered under extended warranty.
