fishx65
Done my research and thinking about ordering this Motorcraft Coil Pack kit for my 08 3.5 Taurus (77,000). Not sure if this kit has the right plugs and UI gaskets for the Taurus but I know the coil packs are the right ones and they'll also work in my 2011 Edge. $150.00 seems like a heck of a deal for 6 coil packs, 6 plugs and the gaskets. Anyone order this kit for their 3.5 Edge???? Pretty sure the Taurus only has one bad pack but instead of trying to find it I'll just replace all of them. :) https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-kit-ba5z12259a Edited October 13, 2018 by fishx65
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Only coils will work for your 2011. Plugs and gaskets you purchase separately.
fishx65
Pulled the intake tonight on the old 2008 3.5 cuz I'm doing the Coil Packs and plugs tomorrow. Throttle body looks a little dirty so I better give it a cleaning. I really want to pull it but I didn't bring a new gasket up to the cabin with me where I'm doing this job. Anyone know if the TB gasket is reusable???
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
yes it is.
fishx65
Thanks! Got the TB cleaned, replaced all the plugs and put all new coil packs in the rear. Gonna drive it for a while and see if the "under load" miss is gone before replacing the front packs. At 75,000 miles all the plugs looked good but the gap was about .70 on all of them. Was kinda surprised how much torque it took to get the plugs out and the Coil pack electrical connection clips are definitely delicate. Had to get fancy with a couple zip ties after damaging one of them.
IWRBB
Would this kit work on a 3.5L EcoBoost engine (2015 SHO)? Coils specifically. I'm sure the plugs are the wrong temp, and no intake removal gasket is needed on those.

WWWPerfA_ZN0W
NO this kit is only for the naturally aspirated 3.5/3.7 Engines. Will not work on Ecoboost engines at all.
spy_vs_spy
Great price. all six coil plug rubber bottoms fell apart during removal. luckily i had a long clamp that fit down there and pulled each out. do the fr t o es first so you can practice getting all the bits out.
Gortty-Pilot
I have found information that supports using this kit in the Gen 1 Edge but not the Gen 2. Has anyone used this kit in a Gen 2 Edges (2011-14)?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
2011-2014 are Gen 1.5, 2015-18, Gen 2, 2019-??? Gen 2.5 So coils will work fine on the 3.5/3.7 for Gen 1.5 and 3.5 on Gen 2, need to buy plugs and gaskets separately. Coils are a steal with this kit.
Gortty-Pilot
I guess I don’t know my Edge generations like I thought lol. I ordered the kit from Tasca and was primarily concerned with the coils so that is great news! I’m ok with just buying an extra set of plugs and gaskets.
