Old Ray
Third Edge, but don't remember this problem before, but the last one did not have 401A. On my 2018 sport the sync (?) defaults on start-up to the nav screen, I live in "resume speed" Canada and we barely have roads, and other then the seasonal changes, my 7 km. commute never changes, so don't need the nav. How can I change the default screen to audio or climate, or if necessary shut of the Nav? Tried searching here and reading the manual makes my eyes glaze over. Thanks. akirby
So if you put it on Audio, shut it off and restart it then it goes back to Nav? That’s not how sync 3 works. Is your phone plugged in? Are you sure it’s not going to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?
FordGuy1
The Sync3 that's in your 2018 sport should restart on the last menu screen that it was on when the vehicle was shut off. If your plugging in your phone before starting the vehicle then Apple Carplay or Android Auto maybe starting up in one of the phones maps. If that's the case and you don't won't Apple CarPlay or Android Auto then you can disable then in the Sync3 settings.

No, shouldn't matter. Can you post a video shutting down the vehicle with it on Audio, then starting it back up with nothing plugged in so we can see what it's doing? enigma-2
Looking at the owners manual, navigation is default on start up. Takes all of left-hand side of screen, right side is split into audio and phone stuff. Is that the way yours looks (page 418) or are you saying that navigation takes up the entire screen? FordGuy1
enigma-2, The screen your describing is the Home screen that can be accessed by pressing the "Blue House" on the Top Left of the display. This will also be the screen that Sync3 goes to upon a forced restart by pressing the "Seek+Power" buttons together for a few seconds. Once you select a different display like the "Audio" or "Climate" then it should start back up in that display screen upon a restart of the vehicle. At least that's how my 2017 Edge works and I'm on software revision V3.0 which is the latest. Old Ray, you might want to talk to the dealer to see if they may have a setting with Forscan that can change it from the last screen recall to a forced navigation recall. Old Ray
Oh, the "Blue House", that's the button that old fat fingers here pushes every time he tries to turn on the heated steering wheel switch (yep, big snow storm last week). The nav thing is giving me a headache (a real one) so under stress management prevention, pee on it, I will just change the screen until I see the dealer. Definitely a self indulgent unimportant first world problem. Sorry, forgot to say Thank You to all that helped, much appreciated !
