ONEDGE16
All, need your expert input, Just bought my lovely wife a new 2018 Escape Titanium (maybe that way I get some time in my EDGE). Now looking for winter rims. The OEM rims are 18x7.5 and very hard to find used ones as an extra set for winter tires. Options available: 1 - downgrade to 17" rims: a- used OEM steels b- used 2016 OEM 17" Alloys 2- OEM 18" alloy but a bit wider 18x8 (instead of 18x7.5) this increase the options available 3- OEM 18x7.5 from Focus (2005-2013) or C-max (2007-2010) still rare to find. 4- wait for a set of 2013-2018 escape 18" rims become available on the market. I'm inclined for option 2, with option 2b as a second option.
lildisco
Wow, i got my winter set of wheels for like $800 2 years ago, now they're over $1,000, sheesh! I went with OEM 18 wheels (no chrome) & tires. I believe that it came from a company in Michigan & i live in Ohio. Only 'issue' i had was the tpms sensor learning process. I would drive around for a week & it wouldn't learn the new tpms/wheels. I ended up with FORScan and it helps to learn the new tpms. Maybe keep an eye out on ebay/Craigslist for a deal. They'll pop up around October/November.
todd92
Why hung up on OEM anything? Go to Tire Rack or Discount Tire and order a set of wheels and winter tires mounted and balanced, delivered to your door. Also, 17" is not a 'downgrade' for winter, it's actually preferred. omar302
On the 2015+ models, 18" is the smallest diameter wheel available, maybe the 17" won't clear the brake calipers, anyone confirmed that they fit?

The input request is mainly for my Wife's 2018 Escape. I have 18" winters for my 2016 Edge

I can get the 17" OEM with TPMS for $500 CAD, thus no need to look for replicas. I think the consensus from the responses so far is to go with 17" for winters Vs 18".
