velcro7279
Going to be trading our 2010 Flex Limited FWD for a 2015 or newer Edge AWD with the 2.0 Ecoboost. Still trying to find the best deal for an Edge with the options we want. Drove a 2015 on Friday and the wife and I really liked it. Pretty set on the Ecoboost, but if the right deal came around I might go with the 3.5. We have 161,000 on our Flex and have had no problems with the 3.5 in it so far. Kinda worried about the water pump taking a crap on it soon though. Bought a new 2008 Edge in 2008 that we outgrew. Not needing the space anymore we are going to get another Edge. Thought about another Flex, but it seems that since they are discontinuing them soon they aren't putting anything into improving them. The Edge interior is much nicer than a Flex is now. A lot of the Flex interior is dated. They changed the dash in them in 2013 but it seems that from the A pillar back they are the same as our 2010. Anyway, Here right now looking at what is going on with the Edge currently. Seems to be a good amount and variety of info on here.
lildisco
2016+ has Sync 3 & mainly the same options. Minimum i would go would be an SEL, but the Titanium is worth it if you can find 1 wit the options you want & a good price. I have the 2.0 & it's been a nice engine. Ours is FWD, so obviously not quite the same as your looking for, but the fuel economy is decent & power is great. Reliability hasn't been seen yet as the twin scroll 2.0 hasn't been out long enough, but I'd imagine that it's pretty good. Keep up on your oil changes & maintenance and it should last you a long time. Edited September 2, 2018 by lildisco

Want the leather seats for sure. AWD will help the wife feel more confident in the Northern Michigan winters. Hope that if we get a 2.0 it holds up well. I would think that they would have these Ecoboost engines figured out by now. Already checking prices on Amsoil for the oil changes. Read your post about installing a catch can. Looking at those too. lildisco
Sync 3 is a much better interactive system over the previous versions. You also get the ability to run Android Auto & Apple Car play (apple has to have the usb hub swapped out to work). Having Android Auto gives you the ability to also use apps like Waze from your smart phone, even if you don't have built in Nav.

Having Android Auto gives you the ability to also use apps like Waze from your smart phone, even if you don't have built in Nav. Those are cool options. I'll keep that in mind while we are looking for one. Welcome, and best of luck in your search! The perfect vehicle IS out there. Yep. I'm sure it is. Just hope we can be patient enough to find it. Lol. Kinda got the itch to get something different after diving the Edge on Friday. Good luck with your search! Grayling is a beautiful place to visit! Thanks. It's a nice place to live, too. Worst thing about it is the lack of employment opportunities close by. Not much to choose from.
