CivicSi907
Hi Guys, I just came back from holidays with mit Edge, and on the Autobahn these two warning lights came up sporadically. Sometimes it came up on bumps, then it goes out on the next bump, then it came up when I went down the hill or when I accelerated.... really very. Sometimes it was on for 10 minutes, then nothing was lighting up for 2 hours... What could be the problem? Brake Fluid is full. I have noticed one tire had less pressure, but nothing changed after I filled it up again.
akirby
Probably a flaky wheel sensor or wiring to a wheel sensor. The codes should tell you which wheel.
CivicSi907
You don't mean the TPMS Sensor?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
no, wheel speed sensor is different. TPMS sensor only checks air pressure in the tire.
mike dexter
Unfortunately, it is usually the sensor ring, a toothed ring attached to the halfshaft. Look for it behind the wheel and see if it is cracked, corroded, or damaged. If you're lucky, it will be the sensor, which is fairly cheap and easy to replace.

Do you have a Diagram or picture of the sensor ring. Also can you give me a link to the part on rockauto.com BTW.... the error codes my buddy has found are: C1140-20 B1320 B1485 B1696 C1125-20 Edited September 26, 2018 by CivicSi907

macbwt
Start by inspecting the tone rings. Look for missing teeth cracks stuck objects etc.
CivicSi907
The left tie rod end was faulty. Its the second time that the left tie rod end was faulty.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
How did that trigger all the lights? Never heard it associated. Maybe the symptom is fixed, not the cause? Alignment was good?
CivicSi907
Maybe because the wheel was shaking and that caused the abs sensor to make the lights came up? Wheel isnt shaking any more. Braking is much smoother. Alignment is good. Another leak my mechanic found is the steering gear is leaky. The lights didnt came till now again.
CivicSi907
Lights came up again after starting the car in the morning fog. After a few meters the lights went off again.

enigma-2
The left tie rod end was faulty. Its the second time that the left tie rod end was faulty. Thats what happens when your mechanic doesnt use Motorcraft parts.

evh
I have had a similar problem as well. My bet it is the Tone Ring. I have had that on two (or three?) wheels on my Edge and the system acts a bit weird. I am dealing with it on my Daughter's 2008 Ford Escape. In researching it on the Escape I found this write-up and thought it is very applicable to the Edge as well. Nicely written with photos. https://therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85395

Anyway...why does the lights just go on in the morning tow and after a few driving meters they go off and stay off.
enigma-2
Been reported before in the gen one, traced to a faulty speed sensor. (Nothing concerning both coming on together). http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/3120-abs-traction-control-warning-lamps-07-edge/ How old is your battery?
