GAG
I just got a 2014 SE and love it, but the steering is a bit sluggish and harder than I would expect. Any adjustment to the assist?
akirby
No adjustment. When does it feel sluggish - at low speed (in a parking lot) or on the highway.
omar302
What is your previous or other vehicle? The 2011-2014 Edge (not sure of the 2077-2010) generally have a noticeably heavier steering than average.
akirby
Oh wait - that doesnāt have the adaptive steering, does it? In that case itās either normal or your steering rack is bad. Try another 2011-2014 Edge for comparison if possible.
GAG
thanks. Low speed is most notable. May be normal for the 2014, just feels like sport mode(heavier is a better term than sluggish); definitely not comfort mode. No adaptive steering. I've had trucks that steer lighter. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Power steering fluid looks good? Level is good, color is good, smells like ATF should? I would suggest a power steering "flush" first to see if that makes a difference. Very basic DIY process.
enigma-2
Check tire pressure?
GAG
Yep. Yep. and Yep. I think it may be normal for this model year. I might up the pressure in the front tires. I did add 1-2 oz. of Bestline Powertrain Lub to the res, and get a steering wheel cover for better grip. The steering wheel is a bit small and too smooth for my liking. Thanks for your advice.
