aggieguy
Please forgive me if this has been addressed, I reviewed the forums and didn't quite see my question. I upgraded the halogen projectors in my 2015 to an HID kit. This has solved my night time visibility issue I had with the halogen, however, the issue is the new HID lights stay on all the time at full brightness due to the DRL function. SEL models, like mine, use the low beam lights at a reduced wattage as the DRL system. Titanium model's with the factory HID's use the high beams as the DRL. Here's my question, how do I go about changing the programming to either 1. turn off the DRL completely and have no lights on during the daytime, or 2. change the programming to that of the Titanium and utilize the high beams as DRL. My dealer said the Edge has non-configurable DRL, meaning I have no option to go in the lighting settings in the menu to simply turn off the DRL. The dealer said that it is possible (after much debate) to hook the car up to a computer to disable the DRL but they refused. Any suggestions? lildisco
I know my 2016 SEL has configurable DRL's. I'm on mobile & can't see your location, but is DRL mandatory in your area? I believe that mine is on the left side menu under settings & lighting
ONEDGE16
You can do the modifications using Forscan and an OBDII reader. You can either add the DRL control menu to the left instrument panel to turn it on/off, or you can change it so your high beams are your DRLs, or your turn signals. more details can be found on these threads: https://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/22836-adding-drl-control-to-left-instrument-cluster-canadian-edge/ https://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/23250-comprehensive-list-of-possible-forscan-mods/ Edited July 24, 2018 by ONEDGE16
