edge owner
I recently ordered my Edge SEL, Vista roof AWD on Jan 20/07. I work in the plant and let me tell you this vehicle is a winner. Out of curiousity I looked at the Murano as well as the Lexus 330 and those units have nothing on the Edge, call me bias. The new 3.5L should also be a hit with consumers. It's nice to see the hype out there regarding this CUV. At my dealership (keep in mind I'm from a small town) there has been overwhelming inquiries with good sales. Now the downfall is the waiting time to get this vehicle to the customers. I was told 10-12 weeks for mine but in reallity I know its more like 12-16 weeks. We are finding ourselves working 7 days a week to get this product out. All retro fits are almost done. If anyone has any questions and if I can answer them I'd be happy to. nsap
Hi! I have some questions.. Is there really a constraint on the 18" chrome wheels? Why is it taking so long to get the order serialized? Thanks!
edge owner
Hi! I have some questions.. Is there really a constraint on the 18" chrome wheels? Why is it taking so long to get the order serialized? Thanks! The supplier that produces the 18" chrome rims fell behind on orders. They are mass producing the rims now and all orders will be filled. Should take a week or so to get caught up. If your dealership has high turn over of vehicles he/she should press Ford to get yours serialized. We have shipped 32,000 units thus far and currently have 25,000 in order bank. Please be patient, it will be well worth it. Yours an SEL? The only reason I ask is because they are located close to me, and I know they are over-whelmed right now with the new GM truck rims. I wondered if maybe they were doing the Edge/MKX wheels as well... The dealership is a small one. The move a lot of vehicles, but probably not a lot to Ford. Its a MKX with Ultimate and Elite packages. It was ordered January 6th, and as of the 31st...it was not serialized. Any idea when the wheel fiasco will be fixed? A week or so you say? No its not Superior, I think the name of the supplier is an acronym, ATX or something like it. They are located in the states. They are shipping to us right now so the rim ordeal is over. Congrats on your MKX it handles superbly, very quiet, definately an eye catcher nice unit.

Former Ford ZM
NSAP. PM me with a dealer name (and code too if you have it) and your body type and order number. These are located on your priced DORA which your dealer should have given you a copy of. I can't make any promises, but I can at least "look into it" for you.
