I'manedgeowner
I was wondering if anyone has added one to a 3.5 non-Eco Boost? If so, what's your impression of the clean out? In your opinion was it needed, necessary or worthwhile? Just my opinion but with a turbo why would anyone not have one installed? I did a separator search and saw the topic was only mentioned once but no follow up.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
The valve covers have the baffling Ford deemed necessary for oil separator function. More issues with Ecoboost PCV systems mean that they DO have oil separators installed. And yes EB PCV valves/oil separators do get gummed up and need replacing from time to time.
I'manedgeowner
I appreciate that. I'm more familiar with catch cans which really aren't needed for the street. Yet, they seem to be more popular than air-oil separators? I didn't realize Ford had addressed this. Thanks again.
