MLTEdge
And yet... Last quarter... The Edge had one of the highest ratings for loyalty ownership across all vehicles. RIP Edge after 2023 as Ford doesn't listen to customers.
Odrapnew
Not necessarily a hate, but I really dislike the fact that the left gauge cluster panel doesn't revert back to previous screen after using paddle shifters. It switches over to the round tach, but after it times out, stays on that screen. My 14 Explorer Sport would revert back to whatever screen it was on previously (usually fuel mileage). WBurg1986
I have a 2017 EDGE SEL. One thing I don't like is when it randomly drops Android Auto while I use the NAV function on my phone or states that the USB device is not recognized. This only happens when the phone is plugged in and I have used both USB ports, but this nuisance still occurs.
paiyaan8
I have a 2009 Limited (fully loaded, almost every option). It has power driver and passenger seats, however, the seat backs are manual. You have to lift the lever and lean forward or back and release the lever to adjust the angle on the seat backs. Hate it! mobdro 2022 Edited January 30, 2023 by paiyaan8

dabangsta
That goofy cubby area in the center console under the dash (in front of and over the power port on the passenger side), with no rear facing access. I don't see how it is useful for anything. Also the center console storage, glove box, door storage...are small. I tried putting the contents of my old 2017 Escape into the same compartments in the Edge, and they don't fit, at all. Only part bigger is the little tray in the console storage area, which was gum, chapstick, pen and pencil.

enigma-2
Somewhere in a remote engineering building at the Ford Motor Company, a design engineer sits in the dark, snickering quietly to himself, as he remembers designing that stupid, worthless opening in that console, which has no practical use. Wondering how many people are trying to figure out its use, when he simply had an argument with his wife and decided to take it out on tbe design of the Edge. Heh, heh, heh.
ratepace
My 2010 awd Limited gives an extremely smooth and quiet ride with no rattles. Power and gas mileage are excellent for a vehicle of this size, seats and legroom are superb and the premium sound system is very nice. I continue to hate all the little things that Ford decided to cut costs on... hood insulation, sensors in the rear door handles, good lighting in the cargo area, virtual climate controls, having to fully open the sunshade just to vent the panoramic roof. Coming from a couple recent Fusions, these "little" things take time to come to grips with. I still walk up to my back doors expecting it to unlock... probably the one convenience I miss most from the previous cars (not sure if they were ever available on the Edge). dabangsta
I hate(d) the capped lug nuts. I bought some fairly cheap solid metal chromed ones that are bulge acorn and replaced them all. They have been on there for 200 miles, checked twice and none have been "loose", I don't think I need to get the super wide bulge ones, I removed some and checked and they seem to seat just fine. Might be tougher if I was starting with a loose wheel and putting the first one on. Only a couple could I get the OEM lug wrench on more than 1/4 of the way on, I had to take my time and wiggle it on to get enough bite to get them off, and it only has 1000 miles on the second set of tires. dabangsta
Maybe it is the way the 2019+ hood is very visible from the drivers seat, but with a bit of side wind, the hood really shimmies and shakes on the interstate, and on rougher roads. It was bought used, and it shows some signs of abuse, but it doesn't look like the hood has been removed (the EGR cooler work doesn't seem to require it). While the 2015-2018 hood is similar, I don't recall seeing it as prominently when driving them. The one 2014 had a flat hood.
jnechi
Went from a 2013 Limited to a 2022 Titanium. I don't like the scoop in the hood, it's visually distracting and seems to catch a lot of wind. The ambient lighting no longer has a color selection. The leather feels cheaper than on my 2013. There is no clock on the dash cluster panel, only on the tablet. Arm rest console has even less storage. Glove box opens on the side with a push button. Fuel door requires a push to open and close...sometime I have to push it more than once. Window controls are out of reach so I have to lean forward. There is way too much info and buttons on the window wiper handle/switch. Doors don't have a pop up knob to allow you to manually pull up the lock to unlock; it's just a light that is red or green. The head rests are NOT adjustable forward and back, only up and down. I'm sure I am forgetting a few other little things. Edited February 23, 2023 by jnechi Added more info. Looks like I am going to the dealer to get a replacement hood bumper and striker bumper. The striker bumper doesn't stay in place. I found it laying in the plastic tray it contacts when it place. The passenger side does have a bumper/stop at least

dabangsta
The wireless charging pad is terrible. I have a 2019 so SYNC 3 so wired Android Auto and Apple Carplay. I plug into a cable for that and for charging. If I store the phone in the cubby it turns on wireless charging, and it charges slower than it is used (so battery drains), gets super hot, and eventually stops charging. So I either need to 3d print something to put in the cubby so that wireless charging doesn't turn on (something with foil on it, if it doesn't freak out the charger) disconnect the module pull the fuse, and lose lumbar (which I use a lot on 12+ hour trips) get longer cables and stop leaving then phone in the cubby I use wireless charging nearly 100% of the time, I have them all over the house. The phone gets warm in them, but charges correctly (not super quick but plenty fast overnight).
enigma-2
Tried wireless charging with my Samsung and never liked it. Takes too long. I always use a cable plugged into the power poinnt whenever I'm using Escort Live (displays a map of my location and shows where cops running radar and laser are located) or when I have cable TV or YouTube playing. Wireless charging would never keep up with these apps. The wireless pad is just a set of coils projecting a magnetic field. Anything that spaces to phone above this field would stop magnetic coupling. Or a piece of metal would shield the phone.

Many of my Qi wireless charging pads freak out ( flash on and off ) when I place anything solid metal on them, like a soda can or a stainless cup or foil. The air gap needs to be about 20mm it seems. I have mine plugged in as well, but the wireless charging pad turns on even if not charging the phone, and it gets hot, when I put my phone in the cubby. enigma-2
On my Samsung Galaxy, I can turn off wireless charging. I'd imagine IPhone has same setting. Settings>Device Care>Battery>Charging>(uncheck) Fast Wireless Charging. Then put phone on pad and see if phone is ignored. dabangsta
The thing is, I use wireless charging almost exclusively. I have charging pads on my office desk, I built one into my nightstand. Only if I need to very quickly charge it (down to 20% and going someplace in an hour) do I charge with a cable. 10w/15w charging on all the other pads, and it gets slightly warn but not enough to disable charging, which happens on the charging pad in my Edge (and I think to open air slot on the 2020 Explorer). As a matter of fact I frequently use my cell phone as a wireless charger and charge up my older phone and my airpods case using Battery Share. I will try foil on a printed cover and see if it causes faults, if not that is what I will go with. If so, I will disconnect the connector to it. enigma-2
Keep in mind that aluminum is magnetic field permeable. This can be seen in many Android phones which incorporate aluminum case backs. Charges right through the aluminum. Probably better off just disconnecting the pad.
