omar302
Great that it worked. So now we know what it takes for an OEM Halogen to HID conversion. Direct swap plus As Built Data modifications using ForScan: 726-45-01 xxxx XXxx xxxx change value at XX to 7F 726-50-01 XXxx change XX value to 10

Ghhuff
One more q. Does anyone have experience with 726-26-02, one place lists it as frequency and another lists it as change to linear power. Im trying to turn off the PWM to my OEM HID headlights and just use straight dc, I currently use a relay and capacitor and it works, or if I didnt, the HIDs would flicker. Thanks
Ghhuff
Additional info, 726-02-02. Is xxxx-xxxX-xxxx, the capital X is 0 or 1.
Ghhuff
Does anyone know which parameters to change so that DTCs wont come up and tell me my high beam and low beam headlights are out? Ive looked at several options but I dont see what appears to correspond. Thanks in advance.
omar302
Don't remeber reading any similar issue. Did you try this? 726-25-02 xxx* xxxx xxxx Headlamp Style Cfg: 0=BI_FUNC Halogen, 1=BI_FUNC HID, 2=Dual, 3=Quad
Ghhuff
Yes, it is configured that way. 726-25-02 0001-xxxx-xxxx. I had to set this parameter to HID already. Because if you dont set it, flash to pass (high beams on OEM HIDs) wont work either. I found this out by accident when trying to use flash to pass while DRLs were on. So the car already is set and thinks its got HIDs...at least in one place, but I think there are other parameters where HID should be set also. omar302
Found this in the F150 sheet: 726-27-01 0000 xxxx xxxx "Front Light Outage Detection Disable when adding aftermarket LEDs/HIDs in Halogen Bucket" Though, on my Edge Sport with factory HID it is set as follows: 726-27-01 0100 0001 0057 Edit:Also found this in the sheet: 726-26-02 xxxx xxxx x*xx Outage Headlamps Cfg: 0=none, 1=both, 2=high, 3=low Mine is set as follows: 726-26-02 0001 0000 0056 I would try this one first since it seems to match, for my Edge at least. Ghhuff
Thanks omar302. I tried both and neither worked to prevent the dtcs from coming up.
Ghhuff
I got the DTCs issue figured out, so that I no longer get DTCs on low and high beams. The parameters to set are 726-46-01 and 726-46-02. They are described as high beam open DTC and low beam open DTC. 0=unused, 1=used. 726-46-01 was 0001-0100-0076 on my car and I changed to 0000-0100-0075. 726-46-02 was 0100-0101-0078 on my car and I changed to 0000-0101-0077. This set the DTCs to unused. How I figured it out was I printed the as built data from a new Edge on the dealers lot that had HID and then compared page by page to my Edge build data. I found the differing parameters and checked their definitions. This is one more piece of the puzzle. ? Mino
Hey @Ghhuff, Trying to do this myself, bought OEM HID headlamps to convert from the halogen to HID for my 2015 ford Edge, I changed the values for 726-45-01 and 726-50-01 based on the above but for 726-25-02 xxxX xxxx xxxx to select Headlamp type from 0=Halogen to 1=HID, when I change the value to 1 for HID and write it to vehicle it says its written and has gone through but when rescanning the car after the change it reflects its still set to 0 for halogen and wont accept the headlamp change to HID. Any thoughts on if you encountered this is or if I am missing something I didnt do for writing to the module that needs to change that hasn't? If I recall its change 726-25-02 to xxxX xxxx xxxx from 0 to 1 for HID 726-45-01 xxxx XXxx xxxx change value at XX to 7F 726-50-01 XXxx change XX value to 10 the second two changes went through no issues but not the Headlamp type. So headlamps work fine when IGN is in ACC/ON position but when engine is on after 5 seconds HIDs just flash and go dark, which is I assume from the change not going through for HIDs for some reason. Any thoughts or maybe I am missing something else you did? Would appreciate any help you can provide. Mino
Thanks for the reply Wubster, I did all those changes and also ensured I am running the latest version of FORScan as well. Still for some reason 726-25-02 won’t let me write the value for HID. It basically says it does and asks me to turn ign OFF and ON again and when I check again it’s still showing as Halogen. I am all for any possible idea as to why that change is the only one not going through. Not sure if my car being a Canadian version plays any factor or not? I'm stumped

I thought this as well, but with the message from ONEDGE16 with a Canadian Sport I assume there is a way even with Canadian vehicle as there should be a dedicated DRL. 8 minutes ago, Wubster100 said: What is your model year and trim level? As for model year and trim level. I have a 2015 Edge SEL, not a Titanium. I did confirm the wiring is same and its just BodyCM programming that determines it, it even lights up the lights on accessory without issue, but maybe there is another setting I need to do for it being an SEL? Would there be another setting I need to edit in FORScan that's blocking writing to block 25 to tell it the type of headlamp?
