Mikula
Does the front radiator grill emblem on a 2016 come apart? I only had mine off for a second and didn't really check it out before reinstalling it. I'm wanting to take it off and paint it and I've seen some that are 3 separate pieces (the background, the oval, the letters) I'm pretty sure that is the case here, because it has more of a 3d look to it than the old style ford oval emblems. gjb89
Yes it does. The blue and chrome are separate pieces. Edited March 21, 2018 by gjb89
roots57
When I removed mine, it was one piece. The chrome base/border was clearly a separate part, but it was definitely all bonded together, although I'm not sure how well, I had no reason to try separating them.
gjb89
There are a couple points you have to break/melt to get the pieces apart. Once apart they can be melted back together or glued.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
This may still work for you http://www.therangerstation.com/how-to/body-paint/ford-oval-color-change/
Mikula
For those wondering, it is in fact 3 pieces. A thank you to whoever the guy is at the f150 forum that did this. https://www.f150forum.com/f2/how-painted-oval-emblems-new-3d-style-286212/ My bumper is now off to wrap the grille, paint the emblem, and put my bullet casings in place to cover the license plate holes in front (another thread)
