eagleeye 11
I apoligize for the wrong section but can you educate me on why it's imperative to change coolant with 38k km ?
enigma-2
It's not, it's only a recommendation. One way to be certain is to drain a small amount of coolant and test one or twice a year. The important part is to make certain that the coolant doest go acid as it ages.
fishx65
Some feel, and are probably right, that it's a good idea to change coolant often in the 3.5 because of possible water pump bearing failure.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Its not only mileage but time. Mfrs have moved away from time recommendations with oil, Ford has the IOLM in the Edge that works for 2012+ MYs. But no similar accommodation for other fluids in the vehicle. Yet, all fluids will age just sitting there, yes, they do have a shelf life, even brand new in the bottle. You may have only 38k kms on your vehicle, but the coolant is likely nearly 5 years old!

eagleeye 11
I have had the coolant flushed and renewed and I do like knowing that it has been changed. I appreciate the the feedback because this vehicle is new to me and I certainly like to learn. Thanks guys.
