roots57
So my mother has a 2015 Explorer with a 2.0L EcoBoost and she had to take it in for service because it wouldn't shut off. Has anyone heard of this issue for a late model Ford/Lincoln? I had her try bringing the other FOB into the cabin, no luck. A strange problem for sure. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Does it have stop-start pushbutton setup? could be a fault with that.
macbwt
Starting (no pun intended) to appear like an ignition switch failure.
omar302
If it is the ignition button that is not working, after idling for 45 minutes without any action (door open/close or driving) the engine should shut off.
roots57
Yes it has start/stop button with remote start enabled key fob. Everything else shut off, including lights and accessories, just the engine was left running. It's at Ford now getting fixed.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Does the engine shut off automatically after 45 minutes of idling in the absence of other events? I did not see any mention of that in a load shed strategy. Maybe things have changed with the Gen 2?
roots57
I guess it was just a bad relay, I don't know if it would have shut off after a timeout or not, but its fixed now.
