jamesdeanblvd
I've recently purchased a 2011 Edge Limited AWD and I have been trying to figure out how to get the lights to come on when a door is opened. You can physically push the button on the overhead lights and get them to come on, but, they will not come on when any of the doors are opened. akirby
In later models there is a button that turns off the courtesy lamps when the door is open. See if you have one on your 2011. Or check the owner’s manual.
omar302
The 2011 does not have a button to disable courtesy lamps with the door(s) open. Do all the lights not light up with an open door? Even the rear cargo light? If yes, then it is either a fuse or maybe dark mode was enabled. Dark Mode is a setting in the body control module to do just that, but it needs a dealer to program it or using a PC and a software called ForScan with a compatible adapter. Now, if only the front lights do not work while the rear/cargo do work, then it might be a disconnected wire in the overhead console (behind the lights). jamesdeanblvd
No overhead interior lights work unless I manually press them. Ambient lighting works like its supposed to. It's crazy. I've read the manual, ive went through all the settings, It doesn't matter if its front, back or cargo door, you open it up and no lights. lildisco
Maybe someone did the door ajar fix & grounded the circuit so that it wouldn't drain the battery or the other related issues...
