WWWPerfA_ZN0W
SKF would be the best. OEM or Timken next.

macbwt
I got the Timkens. Can't wait to replace all 4 of mine. Yeah and you live in AZ with no rust. LOL It is not fun in the midwest with the rust.
PrinzII
Are the new bearings supposed to have a ridged ring for the ABS sensor? The Timkens I got do not have them.
PrinzII
Spoke with Mac yesterday and he said they aren't. I am quite curious as to why the original part had a ridged ring, Even after watching MacT's video, I did see some slight ridges on his original hub/bearing. I did see that the AWD ones do not have that ridge. I am also going to check with my parts vendor to double verify.
PrinzII
Update: The bearings MUST have those ridges. I am returning these bearings going with the SKFs at Rock Auto when I get my refund. Also double checking with Timken.
PrinzII
Spoke with Auto Anything and their distributor. Auto Anything is reaching out to Timken to see why these bearings did not have the ABS/Speed sensor ring. I am following up with them today to see where they are. In the meantime, I am going to print the mailing labels for these bearings and send them back for a refund.
IWRBB
I don't quite get what you are asking. All the pictures I've seen of rear bearings for a Gen 1 FWD Edge show no external tone ring- it looks like the ABS sensor plugs into the plastic on the back of the hub, so the tone ring must be internal. If it's an AWD Edge, then a shaft has to go through the bearing- so there's no room for the FWD style design. Therefore they press a tone ring on the halfshaft and mount a sensor to the spindle to read that. FWD Rear Hub: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=2924862&cc=1434490&jsn=465 AWD Rear Hub: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=2925744&cc=1434490&jsn=464 AWD Rear Halfshaft: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=9125224&cc=1434490&jsn=537 I'll be replacing the rear hub/bearings on our 2010 Edge soon. Been making a growling noise for a while now that sounds like it's coming from the rear, and the MPGs are way down. Just short of 60K miles. PrinzII
Exactly, Mine is a Gen 1.5 with almost 160k. I am also working with the vendor to see where they went wrong because when the original was removed, there was no plastic cover over that tone ring. That's another thing I am finding confusing. If that's supposed to be there, why did it come off?

IWRBB
After having 3 of 4 OEM Ford wheel bearings fail at less than 40K miles on a Taurus SHO I just bought- I'm going with SKF on the Edge.
