Edge2015
Trying to change the bulbs to HID. Once installed the lights come on but then when the engine turns on, the lights go out. I heard there's and issue with reverse polarity. I bought an anti flicker capacitor/error corrector. Tried installing the bulbs again, and it didn't work. Has anyone installed HID bulbs successfully? WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Can you set the headlights on MANUAL rather than AUTO? Does the problem still exist? The flicker/polarity issue you speak of is with LEDs, at least I think that is what you are referring to? Might definitely need to put on relays and wire the headlights directly to battery power rather than thru the fusebox. 35W kit or 55W?
Nick Halstead
the halogens had more usable light...but hylux ballasts from diode dynamics are probably the best for the Edge
Edge2015
I'm totally new to this, so my apologies.... so, I have the opt7 HID light kit H11, 5k Also the opt7 HID anti flicker error eliminator. The anti flicker component didn't fix the issue.
Edge2015
Oh! And they were connected to the battery and no matter whether I put the lights on manual or auto, they still won't stay on.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Is it a 55W kit or a 35W kit? I think the 55W goes by BOLT and 35W kit goes by BLITZ nicknames.
candurin
Almost sounds like a DRL issue, where you are not getting the proper 12v when starting the car. Where do you live (I.e. Canada or California)? Edited February 20, 2018 by candurin
badgb21
Hi I changed to HID's a while ago now and had all kinds of issues and tried adding capacitors, nothing solved the problems. Only a change to these; http://drivebright.com/home/product-category/hid-headlight-replacement-kit/ Call these guys and talk to them, they should be able to sort you out - it's all in the ballasts!
