Highrule
I noticed here the last couple of days while driving. When braking from about 60mph or more, my RPMs jump up. I think it does it when slowing down without using brakes also. What could be causing this?
Waldo
Possibly some new winter boots that have you hitting the gas pedal without realizing it?
chefduane
That happened to me. I thought I had a stuck accelerator a few times. Finally realized I was stepping on the brake pedal and the sole of my work boot was slightly resting on the gas pedal. Eliminate that issue first and then look at possible mechanicals. omar302
Transmission downshifting?
Highrule
Transmission downshifting? I think that's what is happening. Does that mean it could be going out? This is it happening. Edited February 14, 2018 by Highrule
akirby
That’s perfectly normal downshifting. The RPM are barely jumping. Relax.
Highrule
That’s perfectly normal downshifting. The RPM are barely jumping. Relax. Good too know. I've never noticed that happen before in any car I've had. Thought it might have been something wrong.
