cjh
Why are the so many different sections within the forums here? 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II should be one section, there is absolutely no need for 2015, 2016, 2017 under it. 2018 is omitted, I might add. Then there's the other subforums such as Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers. Why does that need to be it's own area? A forum I used to visit often with my last car was Acurazine.com, which in my opinion, is organized quite efficiently. Each model is it's own "community", with granular subforums nested within. https://acurazine.com/forums/ I don't mean to sound rude, but navigating this site is a pain in the rear and is the biggest reason I don't frequent it more often. I'm a 2nd Gen owner and only want 2015+ Edge content, all in one place, ideally.
akirby
I’m not responsible for the layout, but I will say that there are a lot of things that are not model year or even generation specific (sync e.g.). Most people seem to use the view new content feature which means you never actually navigate the various sub forums (that’s what I do). So most probably don’t notice it. There is no one right answer and no matter how it gets changed somebody won’t be happy. But I agree all the gen 1 (2007-2014) and gen II (2015+) should probably be combined. I’ll ask Robert to take another look at it.
Burrcold
There's not a ton of activity here compared to Acurazine, so I find clicking on the "new content" button makes it easy enough to see what's up.

I agree, no one will ever be completely happy with changes, but I think consolidating sections would help in clarity of navigation. I just have to imagine that there are a number of people (non-members) who stumble across the forum via Google and don't know where to go first. There's not a ton of activity here compared to Acurazine, so I find clicking on the "new content" button makes it easy enough to see what's up. This is true, but I have to wonder if the forum would be more active if non-members who visited the site found more ease of use in navigation. Then they'd join and contribute. akirby
I discussed this with Robert the site owner. He agrees that we don't need model year specific forums, so this is what we'll do for now: Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX Model Year Specific Gen I 2007-2010 2011-2014 (We could go ahead and combine these but there are some differences in the Gen 1.5s and if we combine them now it will be impossible to break them back apart later. We can always go back and combine these into a single Gen 1 forum at a later date) Gen II 2015+
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
We only need to do Gen 2 for now, as that is where the greatest concern has been from the start, IMHO. Even in Gen 1, 2010 is a "straddle" year. In Gen 2, sports were initially available with FWD. Always something
