Anyone have detailed info on the 3.5 TI-VCT Duratec motor?

Okay so I need some help. I have two vehicles at home with the Duratec 35. One is my 13 Edge, the other is my Dads 17 Explorer. I am trying to see the timing benefit of 93 octane in my Edge vs 87 octane in his Explorer.

Using FORSCAN to look at timing, how come I am seeing negative intake timing values in degrees? Shouldnt it be a positive number?

Like negative 30,degrees timing. Shouldnt it be a positive number? Exhaust timing shows a positive number

Read this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Duratec_engine, it will tell you the history. Someone did a dyno test on the 3.7L Mustang, comparing 87 octane with 93 octane gas. 93 octane produced 7 more horsepower to the wheels than 87 octane. Sensors will 'automatically' adjust the timing when you use a higher or lower octane gas. I 'think' for many years Ford's owner manuals have stated to use premium gas for better performance. :)
