Bartkowsky
I have spent over 9 hours wasting gas trying to update my sync on my 2008 Ford Edge with Nav. I have followed all instructions in which it initially gets stuck on the first rebooting. I chatted online with Ford today and all they can tell me is the previous owner had never updated it and it is still the original factory version which is not compatible with installing the new update and I would need it to be at least version 3.0 to update to the most current version 4.6 via the website. I asked if they can provide me with the 3.0 update to install first so I could still do it at home as I work long hours an was told they cannot provide the 3.0 update I need that the dealer has that. I dont get if they have the new update why cant they provide the older one that originated with them in the first place. Sounds like they just want to wring me dry for more money I dont have right now. Does anyone know where I can download the 3.0 update for my 2008 Edge? omar302
Maybe because that specific update can only be done by special equipment that is available at a dealer?
enigma-2
Had the same question on my last update. Dealer technician told me it's not just updating Sync, they are also updating other modules that require connection through their computer. These modules need to be updated prior to loading new Sync software.
