rreid66
I normally lock my Ford Edge when pumping gas to prevent potential theft of any contents while I’m busy filling the tank. Can the passenger door be opened while I am standing right next to the car at the gas pump? https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/technology/how-to-protect-your-car-from-keyless-entry-hacking.html What about hacking the keyless entry as described in the above article? Thanks.
akirby
No. Your key has to be close to the door and on the same side of the vehicle so they can’t unlock the passenger side. The relay hacking is theoretically possible but logistically very difficult. They have to get very close to your fob and know which vehicle is yours and have the sophisticated electronics. Highly unlikely.
