Last month I got a new '17 Edge SEL trim and am enjoying the vehicle. I now have 1600 miles. Now trying to figure out how to improve the comfort of the seats for long trips. I have leather seats with the 10 way adjustment and lumbar support. The seats seem to be getting more comfortable. Either they are getting broken in or I am getting more use to them, LOL. It took forever to find the right distance, height, angles for the seat and steering wheel. The heated seat feature I think softens up the seat foam.

I can not put my finger on exactly what would improve the seats now. I don't know if the problem is the pitch of the seat needs further modification, the side bolsters are still too intrusive, the bottom seat cushion needs more springs or stronger springs if so equipped, or there just needs to be thicker seat foam or differently shaped seat foam. I did get a separate gel seat cushion. I also got separate pieces of harder foam and softer foam from a car upholstery shop. I tried each of those items and they helped a little but introduced their own discomfort issues. So I am back just using the seat as is.

Before buying the Edge I test drove a lot of vehicles. The ones that impressed me with seat comfort are the cloth seats in the Honda Pilot, Jeep Cherokee, Subaru Outback. I think the common factors were the seats were more plush and maybe flatter. I read the Titanium trim has better seats. Can anyone confirm that? I know the passenger seat adjustments are the same as the driver's seat. I did not try that trim because I wanted the tuning knob on the standard radio on the SEL and not the toggle switch for channel selection on the upgraded Sony radio in the Titanium. Does the Lincoln MKX have better seats? Plusher seats? I have read you can adjust those 22 different ways. I can see that being a good or bad thing, LOL. MKX owners let us know.

So has anyone done anything to improve their seat comfort? If so what did you do? Inquiring minds want to know.
