2002targa
Greetings all, I just picked up my 08 EDGE a few weeks ago and last week I found out that I'm moving to Kodiak, Alaska (I'm in the Coast Guard). My question is, does anyone know if there is a skinnier steel wheel that will fit the edge that I could put studded snow tires on for the winter? Currently it has the blingy plastic 20" rims on it. I asked the guy at the parts dealer, and he didn't know for sure. Thanks in advance, TK

I would recommend you contact The Tire Rack LINK: Tire Rack or Discount Tire LINK: Discount Tire and ask them about their winter tire/wheel packages. You will get a much better deal, and more choices than the Dealer. Good luck. :beerchug: Edited April 4, 2008 by bbf2530
2002targa
Thanks, I've looked at both places and neither one offer a steel wheel. Honestly, I'd prefer an 17 or 18" rim. Does anyone know if a steel rim from another model will fit?? TK

If you did find rims, which ones and where? Thanks. MZ

If you leave those plastic ones on for the winter, chances are you will for sure end up in the hurt locker. I think the smallest rims you can put on the Edge is the 17" due to the TPMS. I have read on the internet about people wanting to put 15" - 16" Fusion rims on the Edge because these sizes are much cheaper. Apparently due to the TPMS, this is not possible. I have an 08 Edge with 17" rims. I just ordered 17" "plain jane" winter steel rims and I'm going to be putting the Michelin X-Ice winter tires on them (235/65/R17). If you do not use your original stock tire size, I recommend you check out this link to see how it will affect your speedometer/mileage. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Best Regards, K
Grey
I tried to install 16" Mountaineer rims on my Edge and they would not clear the brake caliper, so it looks like you are restricted to 17's or 18's. They have a 4 1/2" bolt circle as I recall.
