Jay1203
Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum and wanted to post this question. My 2016 Ford Edge did not come with a power lift gate and I am not keen on installing the aftermarket version of a fear voiding my warranty. Is there a dealer in New Jersey that can install an OEM part, has anyone done this and what can I expect the cost to be. Thanks in advance. akirby
It's far more than just installing the lift strut and motor. You also need buttons, latches, sensors and software. The cost - if it was possible - would be prohibitive. Would probably be cheaper to trade in your Edge for a new one with it.
PrinzII
Not to mention the possible wiring changes.......
NKB1984
Hey, i found one that works just like the factory one. I installed it on my wifes Edge. I got it from https://truckenhance.com . The link to the aftermarket power liftgate system kit is https://truckenhance.com/product/power-liftgate-system-foot-sensor/ . The best part it comes with a foot sensor to allow you to open the tail gate with you feet! So actually better than the dealer one!...lol. The wife loves it! Works great for those of you that wants one. It took me about 3 hours to do the installation, it's pretty straight forward.
