Abbby
Had my ac/alternator belt replaced by the dealer a while back. Ever since there has been an annoying rattle at low RPM in gear. Finally dug into it and it is the belt tensioner. Changed the tensioner and it does the same thing. It turns out the tensioner is in the far relaxed state and certain RPM's the tensioner is bumping against the stop. Figured dealer put on the wrong belt but it is Dayco 5060450 which is supposed to be the correct belt. Pretty disappointing they did not put on a Ford belt. Has anyone seen this before. I need a belt which is shorter than this. The Dayco belt is supposedly 45.08".
macbwt
I recently bought two belts for the power steering and the aftermarket was shorter than the MC OEM so just because it says it is the correct part number does not indicate it will be the correct fit. Replace the belt with a MC OEM belt and you should be fine.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
For easy diy stuff, i dont mind testing the aftermarket waters. Easy as in replacing a bulb or air filter LOL. Chewing up time, creating headaches for myself, not something I want/need in a daily driver.
