Rear Motor Mount

Good morning all,

 

After doing some work on my fathers (Snmjimbo's) Edge this past weekend I noticed just how weak the rear motor mount is. After launching the car once you can hear the wheel hop and feel it.

 

First has anyone started the R&D on this before I duplicate the effort?

Second, If not I'm going to talk to CPE about a possible complete mount replacement or an insert.

 

As for NVH, there should be less than a 5% increase due to the nature of the RMM.

No one has mentioned updating the MM, but CP-E has put out some great products in the past. This SHOULD be well up their alley. Maybe you can talk them into an intercooler as well

Posted about the intercooler last week, I have a list of things I would like them to get going for our platform.

 

1. Downpipes
2. Intercooler and piping
3. CAI
4. RMM
5. Rear Diff Mount inserts
6. BOV

I read somewhere that the motor mounts are fluid filled...is that right? I believe I read that someone had a leaking motor mount that needed to be replaced.

But don't quote me on any of this.

1. Downpipes-------------------------turbos mounted to block make this expensive and nobody wants to build them
2. Intercooler and piping-----------CPE is working on fusion sport, but their setup is slightly different than ours
3. CAI-----------------------------------$500-$700 item with pipes, not really needed till other things come out
4. RMM---------------------------------Wouldn't hurt
5. Rear Diff Mount inserts---------I'm front wheel drive
6. BOV---------------------------------Been on the market before the Edge even came out

Any aftermarket RMM for the 2.7L on the F-150 that might work here?

Last I heard on this, cp-e is making a RMM for the 2017 Fusion Sport. Should be coming out in a few weeks. They said their R&D will contact us for a test fit on the Edge Sport when it is ready. Keep your fingers crossed.
