gkyates
Just for fun, would a few of you tune into Sirius 17 and say what channel it shows as the title? This summer SiriiusXM has turned 17 into a special channel called Yachtrocks. My 2 XM receivers show the new temporary name, but the Sirius receiver has not changed and still says the "Love" channel. Curious if this normal or just our radio. If normal it makes me more curious as to why my XM receivers have picked up this new name for channel 17 and Sirius have not.
enigma-2
Channel 17 is Love. Sirius channel guide is Love (Yacht Rockt Radio). http://m.siriusxm.com/programschedules Is it possible that your radio is receiving Sirius and not Sirius XM? TheWizard
My radio still shows Love as the name on the display despite the fact that it is Yacht Rock actually playing. The company is SiriusXM but they still broadcast on two slightly different frequencies and some of the channels are numbered differently to maintain compatibility with older Sirius and XM radios. Ford OEM radios all use the Sirius frequencies and channels.
gkyates
Thanks for the replies. Interesting. Probably explains why my XM radios have much better sound quality as well. Mainly I was curious of my Sirius radio in our Edge needed an update of some sort, but maybe not.
akirby
No - it gets updates automatically over the satellite as needed. I assume GM and Ford have some type of pre-existing contract or other financial incentive to stick with Sirius only or XM only radios instead of going to SiriusXM radios. enigma-2
Just looked at my Sirius page. I have Siris for the radio and SiriusXM for Travel Link.
